Historical Northville Estate Sale

Household Services is proud to host this sale at the home of Austin Malcolm "Mike" Allen, the first mayor of Northville (in office from 1957-1978), and his wife Betty Allen. Betty is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Linwood W. Snow, who had their medical practice on Main Street in Northville for many years. This sale blends items from both families.

Dr. Snow managed the Michigan State Fair in the late 1930s and early 40s, and we are fortunate to have a collection of his personal photos and ephemera from that time period as well as many historical medical texts and antique medical items from his practice and apothecary.

Dr. Snow took over the Northville Driving Club in 1940 and was instrumental in the creation of the present-day Northville Downs track, so we also have a lot of his ephemera from that time period.

We have a substantial amount of memorabilia and materials from Mayor Allen's time in office. He also owned Allen Monument Works (now part of Inch Memorials) and was a woodworker, so expect to see tools and equipment from his workshop.
